Ipsy: April 2021

Bring on April! I got this bag very very late, which is why the review is so late..

So, I've been obsessively checking my email for other reasons and ever since the email popped up about the "Add Ons" I really went back and forth about one particular item that ever-so-slightly caught my eye. I have only ever used 1 other product by them, and I can't tell if its simply just the internet HYPE that makes me curious, or the fact that it's really good....

Either way, this was my first bag that I went ahead and granted myself an "Add On" in addition to my hand-picked item. It was only 3 bucks, which is honestly why I caved. After like, day 3 of it lingering in my brain, I said "screw it, its $3.00" and just added it. If it was was haunting me that bad - like, seriously.... I needed to just try it and get it over with.

As boujie as I generally am... I have NO PROBLEM snapping my purse closed when it comes to people trying to upsell me shit.

1      GOLDFADEN MD     Wake Up Call Facial Treatment
QUICK TAKE: I was surprised at the power behind this cream... It comes out of the tube easily enough, but it is really solid for a cream. I've used it a few times and haven't actually noticed a difference. I know I'm getting another product in this line in my May bag, so I will see if there is noticeable improvement when used together. Until then, this product definitely needs a deluxe trial size so people can use it longer to see and feel results -  especially with this price point.

2     SUR.MEDIC+     Vital-Collagen & Age Control Mask Duo
QUICK TAKE: Review Coming Soon!

3     ECO LIPS     Organic Lip Balm
QUICK TAKE: I dropped this little gem into my scrub jacket pocket and it hasn't left since! Well, except for going through the washing machine. Its kind of a plain jane lip balm, but I was missing my normal one so I was grateful for getting this one in my bag!

4     BEAU GACHIS     Angled Concealer Brush
QUICK TAKE: This brush ended up being bigger than I thought it would be. It works fantastic though. I've used it a few times, toggling back and forth between this and the silicone makeup "sponge" I picked up. I use it in a stippling motion and it seems to apply the concealer pretty seamlessly. Glad I picked this!

5     NOMAD     Highlighter in Balmoral Beach
QUICK TAKE: I've only managed to score 1 or 2 other Nomad items (ever) and for some reason I would consider this brand one of my most sought-after brands. Not sure where it comes from or why, but I've always wanted more samples from them. This highlighter is no joke and has shocker sheen to it. I have to barely dip my brush into it, and it is still blinding!

6     TATCHA     The Water Cream
QUICK TAKE: I immediately was surprised by the consistency of this. I was expecting it to be much heavier, but while it looks like it will be thick and creamy, it really is amazingly light and refreshing. It feels awesome and my skin loves it. I wish this brand wasn't so expensive, cause damn (!) I think I found a staple for my makeup drawer... super impressed.

TATCHA The Water Cream All "hype" aside, this cream really has a luxurious texture and I can't deny that my skin loves it. I have no idea what their magic formula is, and I'm not sure if I will throw down money to get  the full size product - because all their products are pricey and my current face lotion (belif) still kicks ass but at a lower price point  - however, this ended up walking-the-walk, not just talking-the-talk.

I opted for the BEAU GACHIS Angled Concealer Brush as my special pick and I'm glad I did. I know its just a concealer brush, but I love it. You could say it falls into a "specialty" brush category and I love that.
