Its Alive!

We are officially in the "teens" of our countdown. Which, is completely insane. Where did this year go?? I had my internal mantra defaulted to "we have all year for [ xx ]..." and now we don't. I can't even round it up to a full "month" anymore.

I am relieved - the apartment complex requires a 60 Day Notice of intent to extend/vacate, which put us at November 1 for that particular due date. So, I'm glad we have an official Closing Date for the house. It was a bit nerve wracking thinking about turning in a Move Out notice without officially knowing when we'd be able to Move In. It's bittersweet... this apartment has been amazing. It's beautiful & spacious, awesome location, fantastic wrap-around balcony.. but I know as soon as we get the keys to the house, it's going to be nothing but flat-out excitement and a flurry of activity. Honestly, I know we won't look back. I still can't believe we will be in the house before the Holidays.

I'm sitting here waiting for a call back from Ryan (our Mortgage Agent) to go over the finer details of the Loan. While I wait for that, I figured I'd update on the latest happenings with the house.

We have electric!

I feel like this part took forever!! Maybe because I was on pins & needles (desperately) waiting for it! hahah. Every trip we'd take, the suspense I had walking up to the doorbell was excruciating. I'd reach out for the button, pause, hold my breath, and push. LOL

Latest un-researched OCD thought:
If we want to change the whole house color scheme from the builder-beige to a grey, what are the rules about the ceiling?? Does that get changed to grey also? Anyway.... back to the real blog entry.

The wood blinds, cabinetry hardware, shower surround, & the bathroom mirrors are now installed. I believe the only Interior items left are the Appliances.

The garage door, front door, and back door have all been painted their actual colors, I believe the only remaining Exterior items are the Shutters & Sod.

My next priority item is to schedule the Fiber (internet) to be mapped out. Since this portion of the subdivision hadn't existed until now (and we're the first occupants), it takes an extra step for them to get internet into the house. So, I will schedule that to get started, this way we will have services at move in. I also need to contact the Electric Company and schedule a start date for services.

        UTILITIES TO BE CONTACTED:

        1) Electric
        2) Internet
        3) Water/Sewer/Recycling
        4) Gas

Including the list above, so I have my own little checklist available.
