Its Alive!

We are officially in the "teens" of our countdown. Which, is completely insane. Where did this year go?? I had my internal mantra defaulted to "we have all year for [ xx ]..." and now we don't. I can't even round it up to a full "month" anymore.

I am relieved - the apartment complex requires a 60 Day Notice of intent to extend/vacate, which put us at November 1 for that particular due date. So, I'm glad we have an official Closing Date for the house. It was a bit nerve wracking thinking about turning in a Move Out notice without officially knowing when we'd be able to Move In. It's bittersweet... this apartment has been amazing. It's beautiful & spacious, awesome location, fantastic wrap-around balcony.. but I know as soon as we get the keys to the house, it's going to be nothing but flat-out excitement and a flurry of activity. Honestly, I know we won't look back. I still can't believe we will be in the house before the Holidays.

I'm sitting here waiting for a call back from Ryan (our Mortgage Agent) to go over the finer details of the Loan. While I wait for that, I figured I'd update on the latest happenings with the house.

Finishing Touches

So we snuck by the house today.. Made our regular trip over to the house today. After we received the email of our closing date, but before we got our call-back to answer questions. Our call-back came right as we were pulling away from the house, actually.

A Closing Date

 We have a closing date!

NOVEMBER 12, 2020

I uploaded the last round of requested documents last night at 8pm, and I woke up to an email confirmation of a closing date appointment (and a missed call, but hey, my schedule is jacked right now). I had a few very-specific-but-unanswerable questions that I've been wanting to ask, but couldn't until I had a firm closing date.

Winding Down

I received an email about needing the last 3 years of Tax Returns, plus the latest month's paystubs. It took a bit of creative footwork, as I didn't have a copy of 2017 at all and my 2018 wasn't a digital copy. In the end, it was all successfully uploaded/submitted today. My little coun…

Master Bedroom

During my downtime at work (overnight weekends) I've been steadily losing grip of reality thanks to Pinterest. I have a list going of prospective projects AND assorted power tools that I'll need to acquire.SIMPLE projects. Nothing elaborate.
Like, straight cuts and simple measurements.

Wrapping Up

So here we are, a couple days shy of Mid-October and the current construction manager has communicated that he should be "signing-off" on everything by the end of the week to go forward with scheduling a closing date.

There are only a few things remaining at the house [appliances to be delivered, hardware on cabinetry, sod in yard] but everything else is in place [carpets, toilets, light fixtures, water heater, A/C unit, trim, sinks/faucets, door handles, etc]. I've been trying to keep the Progress Pics Photo Gallery going as best I could.
