The meeting with Construction Manager went AWESOME.
I had heard how some places kind of hint that they want everything done by appointment only... but she was a completely open book. She was like "you can come by any time you feel like it. After hours. Weekends. Whenever. You can take pictures of whatever you want. Come take measurements! Check it all out! If you want more than that, by all means, we can totally set an appointment where I can meet up with you if you want a one-on-one!"
She answered all of my questions - like if some mysterious additional insulation somehow appeared overnight in the garage walls before the drywall was hung, she'd be like, "Well ain't that sumpin!" LOL. Some super WEIRD tidbits that made me toss & turn at night [like thinking we had no electrical outlets on the exterior of the house]... we totally do. What I didn't select was the additional electrical boxes... which would be in addition to the multiple that come standard.
And just like we knew it would, the house literally popped up over night. I got off work tonight and I just had a feeling. I was like.......... "We are totally driving by! Not taking NO for an answer." Actually, there wasn't any hesitation... just mutual excitement. Honestly, I'm surprised I didn't sneak by last night. I actually gave it more than 24 hours.
I could see it as we were on the entrance road to the subdivision.... I could tell the framing had been put up by all the dark shadows next to the 2 story house. I stifled an internal EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee!
It. Is. Amazing.
My phone has an amazing Night Photo setting, so it looks 10x brighter than it actually was outside (Thank you, full moon!). To validate the skewed concept of "size" from the last post - it's 1000% accurate. When we walked around tonight, I was like WOW.... (standing in the dining room) "that is so far over there" (pointing to the living room).
I am just now realizing that pretty much from here on out, I will be seeing legitimate, tangible updates - which is insane. I'll be seeing the CABINETS go in.. or THE TILE.. or CROWN MOLDING... (whatever order it ends up being) each little piece fitting right in. It's such a surreal thing to think about.
